About the Author

Mihajlo Mihajlov is an analyst and commentator for Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty in Washington, D.C. Born in Yugoslavia to Russian-emigé parents, he taught Russian literature at the University of Zagreb, Croatia. Arrested in 1965 for criticizing Soviet Communism at an inconvenient moment, he spent 7 of the next 13 years in prison. He is chairman of the New York–based international Committee to Aid Democratic Dissidents in Yugoslavia (CADDY). His books include Moscow Summer, Russian Themes, Underground Notes, and Unscientific Thoughts.
