Thomas J. Biersteker is Henry R. Luce Professor of Transnational Organizations and director of the Watson Institute for International Studies at Brown University.

Abraham F. Lowenthal is the founding president of the Pacific Council on International Policy, an independent, nonpartisan international leadership forum. A professor of international relations at the University of Southern California and a vice president of the Council on Foreign Relations in New York, he was also the founding director of the Inter-American Dialogue, and before that, of the Latin American Program at the Woodrow Wilson Center in Washington, D.C.
