About the Author

Carlos Alberto Montaner is director of Firmas Press, a journalistic bureau in Madrid that serves the entire Spanish-speaking world. A Cuban-born journalist and social analyst, he is the author of 12 books, among them Secret Report on the Cuban Revolution (1981); Two Hundred Years of Gringos (1983); and Fidel Castro and the Cuban Revolution (1989). His syndicated weekly column appears in several dozen newspapers in Latin America and Spain, and is distributed in English in the United States.
