Juntao Wang
Juntao Wang is currently a graduate student at Columbia University. A longtime democratic activist and early member of the “Democracy Wall” movement in the late 1970s, he was arrested by Chinese authorities during the crackdown that followed the Tiananmen Square massacre in 1989. After serving five years of a thirteen-year sentence, he was released on medical parole and exiled to the United States in April 1994.
